Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in the village of Aragats, Armavir region, that the purpose of the visit was to talk to the community residents.
He noted that Armenia needs a railway to develop exports.
“If there is a copper foundry in Armenia, it means․․․. The residents of Gavar say that the Gavar cable factory should be put into operation. It is impossible to operate a cable factory without a railway, without copper. When we have railway copper as a metal, as a raw material, our next task should be to process that copper in Armenia so much, to create jobs that will open new factories. If we manage to open the railways, it means that we will have the opportunity to use the ‘oil’ we have in the 21st century very effectively,” Pashinyan said.
He noted that the RA railways to Iran և Russia pass through Azerbaijan․ “We must understand that it cannot be the case that we get a road through their territory, they do not get a road through our territory.”
According to Pashinyan, Armenia must change its view and perspective towards the region. He mentioned that there are enemies in the region, but “the more we consider them enemies, the more they consider us enemies.”
