Today, the world’s largest Earth Hour Movement is celebrated globally to protect the planet Earth and use its resources sparingly. The RA Ministry of Environment reported.
“External lighting of the main streets and buildings of Yerevan will be turned off from 20:30 to 21:30 as part of the “Earth Hour” global environmental event to combat climate change.
The Earth Hour worldwide movement was first organized in 2007. The event is held annually encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to emphasize the need for every citizen to make daily efforts to use resources sparingly, to achieve harmony with nature, and to use energy efficiently.
The events in Armenia are initiated by the Armenian branch of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
“Anyone can join the initiative,” the statement said.
