The court session on the case of the third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the owner of “Flash” company Barsegh Beglaryan, former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture Samvel Galstyan and theHead of the Plant Breeding Department of the same ministry Gevorg Harutyunyan is underway in the Avan residence of the Court of First Instance of Yerevan. Judge Vahe Misakyan presides the session.

It should be reminded that the defendants in the case Sergo Karapetyan and Samvel Galstyan died of coronavirus on 18 February, 2021 and 10 January, 2021 respectively.

A motion to stop the criminal prosecution against them on the basis of the fact of death was submitted at the court session. The judge met the motion.

It should be reminded that according to the SIS report: organized by the third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, at the instigation of Barsegh Beglaryan, owner of “Flash” company, with the support of the former RA Deputy Minister of Agriculture Samvel Galstyan and the head of the Plant Breeding Department Gevorg Harutyunyan in the period from 25 January to 7 February, 2012, a particularly large amount of the subsidy allocated for 15,391,765 liters of diesel fuel, 489,160,310 AMD, was wasted from the reserve fund of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
