Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is speaking in the Republic Square.

“First of all, as the elected representative of the people of the Republic of Armenia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, my order to all soldiers, officers, generals, officers of the Armed Forces: Gentlemen, are you doing your job of preserving the boarders and territorial integrity of the RA. This is my order, and no one can break that order.

The army cannot look back, cannot look at the rear, cannot be involved in the political process, the army must obey only the people, the political power elected by the people. Those who act outside this logic, acts against the people, against the state, against the rule of law, against the security of Armenia. And I demand that even the high-ranking officers who have left their places of service, I do not want to believe it, come back now and ensure the security of our country. This is our clear demand.

In our army, unfortunately, the government, which has become rich at the expense of the army for many years, still has agents in the RA Armed Forces, those agents must leave immediately.

Why are the people standing here today, because they know who got rich at the expense of the army and the soldier. The people who are  talking  in those squares, the owners of the castles worth millions of dollars, about who are they talking, who are they accusing of betrayal? The one who stole the soldier’s bread came and accused the one who gave bread to the soldier, the one who gave clothes, the one who increased the salary. But this does not mean that I am trying to impose any obligation on someone else.

The power of the people in the country should not be questioned. All attempts to involve the country in violence, lawlessness, provocations, civil war must be strictly stopped by the NSS, the Police and the people.

Didn’t I think I should resign after the war? I have thought, I have thought a lot. But I had said one thing. ‘Idid not become the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia voluntarily, the people decided that I should become the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the people should decide the issue of my removal’.”
