RA Representative to the ECHR Yeghishe Kirakosyan and Liparit Drmeyan met with the Ambassadors of Lithuania, Sweden and Poland

On 23 February, the Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the ECHR Mr. Yeghishe Kirakosyan and the Head of the Office of the Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the ECHR Mr. Liparit Drmeyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania H.E. Mrs. Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden, H.E. Mr. Patrik Svensson; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland, H.E. Mr. Paweł Cieplak.

The ambassadors were informed about the gross human rights violations unleashed by Azerbaijan during the 44-day war. One of the key topics of discussion was the steps taken by the Office of the Representative in dealing with violations of the rights of captives and civilians. The representative pointed out that numerous applications for interim measures have been submitted to the European Court for the protection of the rights of captured persons since the war started.

It was stressed that the Azerbaijani side is artificially delaying the process of returning Armenian captives and the bodies of and victims that are Azerbaijan. Some issues related to the interstate complaint filed by Armenia against Azerbaijan were also discussed.

During the meeting, a brief discussion was held on the results registered by the Committee on Constitutional Reforms and what to do next. The ambassadors offered their support in the implementation of possible further constitutional reforms.
