In 2016, when the “Sasna Tsrer” group captured the State Protection Service (SPS) regiment, on 29 July, disobedient actions took place in Sari Tagh, clashes between protesters and police, after which a number of citizens were arrested, including Hovsep Khurshudyan, a member of the opposition “Heritage” Party . Khurshudyan, who was imprisoned for 27 days, filed a complaint against Armenia in the European Court of Human Rights, which was satisfied.

The Armenian government also admitted that they had violated his rights 4.5 years ago.

Khurshudyan was accused of hitting two policemen with stones. According to him, those policemen did not remember the place or the time of the incident.

Hovsep Khurshudyan is going to apply to the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the General Assembly of Judges regarding the judges who have made decisions.
