Former Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Lieutenant General Jalal Harutyunyan was appointed Head of the Military Control Service of the RA Ministry of Defense by the February 3 order of the RA Minister of Defense Vaghinak Harutyunyan.

Gevorg Altunyan, the Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Ministry of Defense confirmed this information in a conversation with Iravaban,net.

It should be noted that Movses Hakobyan previously held the mentioned position. He resigned in November 2020, according to his application.

It should be reminded that on 27 October, Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan announced that by his decree Lieutenant-General Jalal Anatoly Harutyunyan was relieved of the post of Artsakh Republic Defense Minister – Commander of the Defense Army.

“The decision to release Jalal Harutyunyan is imperative at the moment, due to the wound he received in the military position these days, it should not be a reason for misinterpretations,” said Arayik Harutyunyan.

In a conversation with Iravaban,net on December 14, Gevorg Altunyan, the Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Ministry of Defense said that Jalal Harutyunyan had been discharged from the hospital and was on rehabilitation leave.
