Former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan was interrogated.

Arevik Khachatryan, the Head of the Public Relations Department of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed this information in a conversation with Iravaban.net.

A criminal case was instituted in Garrison No. 1 under Article 34-104, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (attempted murder of two or more persons in a manner dangerous to the lives of many, motivated by national, racial or religious hatred or religious fanaticism) and 185 Article 3, part 3, point 1 (intentional destruction or damage to property, which has caused particularly large damage).

“The preliminary investigation continues. At the moment, there is no person with judicial status,” Khachatryan said.

It should be reminded that on 27 October, Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan announced that by his decree Lieutenant-General Jalal Anatoly Harutyunyan was relieved of the post of Artsakh Republic Minister of Defense – Commander of the Defense Army.

“The decision to release Jalal Harutyunyan is imperative at the moment, due to the wound he received in the combat position these days, it should not be a reason for comments.

I wish Jalal Anatoly a speedy recovery, I am sure that he will return to serve the homeland very soon,” Arayik Harutyunyan said.

“I am convinced that the commander’s rich experience and knowledge will serve our Motherland for a long time yet,” Arayik Harutyunyan said.

In a conversation with Iravaban.net on 14 December, the Head of the Public Relations Department of the RA Ministry of Defense, Gevorg Altunyan, said that Jalal Harutyunyan had been discharged from the hospital and was on rehabilitation leave.
