Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Territorial Subdivision of the Investigative Committee of the RA is conducting an investigation to find out all the circumstances of the attempt to seize the RA Government building

At 17: 00, on 28 January 2021, during the previously announced in the assembly process in the Republic Square of Yerevan city, a group of persons with prior agreement, made an attempt of seizing the RA Government building.

Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Territorial Subdivision of the Investigative Committee of the RA initiated a criminal case on the incident pursuant to Article 34-219 Part 2, Point 1 of the Criminal Code of the RA  (attempt to seize buildings, structures, means of transport, and/or communication).

During the preliminary investigation, 5 people were arrested on suspicion of attempting to seize the RA Government building.

An investigation is underway.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
