Today, 12 January, during a press conference, the RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan referred to the process of return of the Armenians captured in Azerbaijan.

“Azerbaijan is obviously politicizing the issue. It is inadmissible to politicize humanitarian issues related to the protection of human rights in the post-war stages, because it is a gross violation. According to international requirements, prisoners of war or civilian prisoners must be released immediately after the cessation of hostilities or return to their home countries. It is prohibited to initiate criminal proceedings against them, to detain and arrest them is considered a punishment, it is also prohibited. Moreover, the artificial delay of these issues is also prohibited; it is also, in fact, a war crime,” Arman Tatoyan said.
