Taking into account the concerns in some media, social platforms and political circles, I consider it necessary to make public the motives for the treturn of two Azerbaijani saboteurs, Dilham Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev. It was adopted after a comprehensive discussion with Smbat Tsakanyan’s parents after receiving their consent.

This responsible decision not only facilitated the return of the first group of captives, but also guaranteed the repatriation of subsequent groups.

I express my deep gratitude to Smbat Tsakanyan’s parents, Mekhak and Karine Tsakanyan, for their responsibility and high civic consciousness.
