According to Alen Simonyan, Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly, member of the “My Step” faction, NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan personally forbade his security to use weapons on the day of the incident. As reported by “Armenpress”, Simonyan assured about this in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.

The journalist noted that when the current government came to power, for example, the gates of the National Assembly were opened, but now they are closed.

“Are you aware that when the speaker of the National Assembly was unconscious, they said’ let’s burn him’, then said ‘no, he is dead’, which followed ‘let’s burn or hang him. Are you aware that there were groups that went to my house and tried to kill me? Are you aware that there was a “hunt” after me in Moscow?” Simonyan said

He informed that they had applied to the law enforcement bodies related to the case of beating Ararat Mirzoyan. An investigation is underway involving at least two people in connection with the action against the NA Speaker.

“Ararat Mirzoyan had a security who were armed, whom Mirzoyan personally forbade to use weapons,” Simonyan said.

On the night of 10 November, a group of people gathered near the National Assembly had beaten the Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan. He was taken to hospital and underwent surgery. The NA Speaker has already returned to work.
