Mesrop Arakelyan spoke with a representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees

On 9 December, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mesrop Arakelyan spoke at a distance with Anna-Carin Ost, Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reported.

During the meeting, they referred to the programs implemented in the post-war period, in particular, the parties discussed the ways of close cooperation in the field of social protection, the social protection programs supporting the people of Artsakh in Armenia, the mechanisms and results of their implementation.

Mesrop Arakelyan presented the existing challenges, the steps taken by the ministry to solve them. In addition to financial support, the Minister stressed the need to create an effective environment and tools that will enable the people of Artsakh to have a stable source of income. He expressed hope that economic and social stability will be restored in Artsakh in the near future and assured that the resettlement of Artsakh is connected with the correct and effective management of time.

Anna Carin-Ost, in turn, presented the complementary initiatives taken by them during the post-epidemic period, during which thousands of people received food and non-food assistance.

The parties expressed hope that the envisaged long-term programs will not only alleviate the difficulties of the people of Artsakh in Armenia, but will also create preconditions for them to return to Artsakh.

The interlocutors expressed readiness to continue the cooperation in order to increase the targeting and purposefulness of the provided assistance.
