On 22 November, Armenian Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tumanyan met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
During the meeting, Ambassador Tumanyan briefed his interlocutor on the situation and current developments in Armenia and Artsakh after the adoption of a trilateral statement by the leadership of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia.
The parties exchanged views on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict and the post-war processes, the participation of regional and extra-regional forces, and the possible further role.
The directions and opportunities of mutually beneficial, mutually agreed cooperation between Armenia and Iran in the current most difficult conditions were discussed. Both sides expressed confidence that there is a need to maintain and strengthen permanent ties between state bodies and public circles, to hold consultations, as well as to intensify joint work in the areas of current cooperation.
