After the protest rally demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the former director of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan told reporters: “Our political force will definitely participate in the extraordinary parliamentary elections, if there are any. Where I will stand among the defenders of the salvation of our homeland will be decided first by the political forces, and first of all by our people,” Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the “Homeland” party said in a briefing with journalists.
According to him, they do not intend to hold a position or take power.
“It is necessary to have great courage to take this responsibility in this, unfortunately, destroyed country, sick and divided society that exists today, to be able to do something. The new candidate for Prime Minister will be acceptable to everyone as much as possible. The stage of publishing names has already come, but I do not consider it correct to announce it. That moment is not very far depending on the developments, that announcement will definitely be made in the coming days. I can say one thing that several people can be nominated as candidates for a possible prime minister,” he said.
Vanetsyan added that at the initial stage there should be an interim government, then special elections, the people will finally decide who should be in power.
