Lawyer Arsen Tavadyan, PHD in Law, wrote on his Facebook page:
“I learned that there was a discussion in the government about the confiscation of illegal property. If before the war this initiative could have been considered, now it is extremely harmful.
Under no circumstances should any money be allowed to leave Armenia now. It is necessary to be realistic, to understand that the consequences of the settlement will be:
- Outflow of significant assets,
- Block a significant amount of funds and stay out of circulation;
- Several years of lawsuits with unknown results.
It would be better to declare financial amnesty now, to set a period of up to half a year, during which any person can register his income, property, legalize them, after which these funds can be freely included in the economic turnover. Of course, after the deadline, it is possible to apply strict income accounting and confiscation of illegal property.
I repeat, it is inadmissible to leave the funds in an uncertain state now.
