Fighting continues in Shushi, cleaning works are being carried out. The mayor of Shushi Artsvik Sargsyan said this in a conversation with “Azatutyun”.
“At night, the entrances where the enemy is located were bombed. Movement of the enemy was observed on their many ‘pickups’, in the part of Isa spring, near the gas pipes, I personally saw so much that they were moving towards Isa spring, and there they were destroyed,” Artsvik Sargsyan said.
He said that even now the battles continue on the outskirts of Shushi. According to him, all Armenians are fighting for Shushi, Shushi will remain Armenian and will be rebuilt with lightning speed.
Artsvik Sargsyan also mentioned that Shushi had been suffered such strikes several times in history and stood up.
It should be reminded that on 27 September, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting the civilian population as well. The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan also targeted the military-civilian infrastructure of Artsakh, the Republic of Armenia, as a result of which 2 civilians were killed in Gegharkunik, 50 civilians were killed in Artsakh, and 148 civilians were wounded.
Journalists of both foreign and local media outlets were wounded in the shelling by the Azerbaijani armed forces.
Martial law was declared in Armenia and Artsakh on September 27. A humanitarian ceasefire has already been declared three times, but the Azerbaijani armed forces have violated it.
