On the way of transporting the wounded soldier from the front line, Dr. Sasha Rustamyan’s medical staff, meeting with a group in Armenian military uniform, stopped to provide assistance, but were shot dead by the Azerbaijani-Turkish-terrorist subversive group.
According to a statement issued by the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, military doctors have been on the battlefield since the first day of the war, serving under a double oath of allegiance: the military and Hippocrates. Getting a doctor’s degree and wearing a military uniform, Sasha Rustamyan is one of the devotees who died while performing his professional duty.
“Sasha Rustamyan’s mission does not remain unfinished. Despite the numerous injuries received, the lives of the wounded soldier and the driver of the ambulance were saved,” the statement said.
