On 8 October, RA President Armen Sarkissian  signed a decree, which states:

“Based on the proposal of the Prime Minister, in accordance with Article 139, Part 1 of the Constitution, as well as Article 23, Part 1 and, Part 3 of the Law on Service in National Security Bodies.

To appoint Mikael HAMBARDZUMYAN as acting director of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia. ”

Notably, by another decree, NSS director Argisht Kyaramyan was relieved of his post.
