To talk about returning the regions of Artsakh is absurd. There must be compromises, but the importance of our security zone cannot be ignored, not only for Artsakh, but also for neighboring countries.

Andranik Kocharyan, deputy of the “My Step” faction, chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly, said about this today, on 8 October, during the briefings in the National Assembly.

“It is obvious that today there is a large-scale war against Artsakh; naturally, Artsakh’s participation is important. Without the participation of Artsakh, there can be no other prospects for negotiations. The 1994 ceasefire agreement has been violated; that ceasefire agreement must be renewed; there, if you remember, Artsakh had its signature under that agreement. “Without the presence of Artsakh, it is impossible to expect any prospects for peace,” Andrank Kocharyan said, speaking about the negotiations on the Karabakh issue.

He also mentioned that the enemy did not agree to take the corpses. In all wars it is a written and unwritten law, but it is not in Aliyev’s interest to pause for at least an hour, to move those corpses for burial, and there are many enemy corpses. He added that even according to Islamic law, the body should not remain for more than a day.

According to the deputy, the Armenian armed forces will allow the enemy to remove their bodies from there, as it causes unsanitary conditions, the bodies are rotting, and the weather is hot. “The enemy is in a situation where they do not even want to solve that problem,” Andranik Kocharyan said.
