Heavy, persistent battles are taking place on the Artsakh-Azerbaijani line of contact, and changes in position are very frequent. The representative of the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan said during the press conference, answering the question what is the situation in the direction of Mataghis.

“I cannot present tactical lines in any particular position or direction. I can say that the situation is quite difficult in the north and in the south. Exactly who, at what point, which side is in which position, I do not think it is such a powerful reality. There are hard and persistent battles, there are very frequent changes of position, both forward, backward, left and right, so let’s not focus on all this,” Hovhannisyan said.

It should be reminded that in the early morning of 27 September, Azerbaijan started active shelling along the line of contact with Artsakh. Peaceful settlements were also shelled, including the capital Stepanakert, as a result of which civilians were killed in different regions of Artsakh. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces also targeted the military and civilian infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia. On the morning of 3 October, Shushan Stepanyan, spokeswoman for the RA Ministry of Defense, said that fierce fighting was taking place in the northern and southern directions of the Artsakh border. The enemy, concentrating great forces in these areas, launched an attack. Armenian units stoped the enemy’s advance, causing great losses.
