Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan condemns the shooting down of an Armenian Armed Forces plane by a Turkish F-16 in Armenia in the morning on 29 September. In response to the question of “Armenpress” how the commander of the Defense Army comments on the attack of the plane belonging to the RA Armed Forces by the Turkish F-16 in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, Harutyunyan noted that the act is condemnable and the Defense Army will take the necessary self-defense measures against the actions of the Turkish air force in the conflict zone.

“Today an Armenian SU-25 plane was shot down by a Turkish F-16 plane in the airspace of the Republic of Armenia. We condemn this treacherous attack. Based on the current situation, the Artsakh Defense Army will take the necessary self-defense measures against the actions of the Turkish air force in the conflict zone,” Harutyunyan said.

It should be reminded that in the early morning on 27 September, Azerbaijan started active shelling along the line of contact with Artsakh. Peaceful settlements and schools, including the capital Stepanakert, are also being shelled. A total of 4 civilians were killed in Artsakh as a result of the Azerbaijani attack: 2 children, 1 woman and 1 man. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces also targeted the military-civilian infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of which one civilian was killed and a civilian bus was burnt by an UAV belonging to the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
