Today, on 23 September, the Constitutional Court elects a president and a vice-president. CC Judge Edgar Shatiryan told reporters that he has no preferred candidates yet.
“All 9 judges aspire to be the President of the Constitutional Court; including Yervand Khundkaryan and Hrayr Tovmasyan,” Edgar Shatiryan said.
Yervand Khundkaryan also said that his candidacy has not been touched upon in the Constitutional Court yet.
“The person who will be elected during the working session by secret ballot, then the solution will be in accordance with the requirements of the law,” Yervand Khundkaryan told the reporters.

Judge Arik Perosyan said that he would not run for office, he did not have a preferred candidate.
The 9 judges and possible presidents of the Constitutional Court are Ashot Khachatryan, Vahe Grigoryan, Hrayr Tovmasyan, Yervand Khundkaryan, Arevik Petrosyan, Arman Dilanyan, Arayik Tunyan, Edgar Shatiryan and Arthur Vagharshyan.
It should be reminded that the Constitutional Court has 3 newly elected judges Arthur Vagharshyan, Yervand Khundkaryan and Edgar Shatiryan. They were elected by the National Assembly on 15 September.
