The decision on submitting the issue of the future tenure of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Arayik Harutyunyan to the Prime Minister for discussion was not adopted in the National Assembly.

Before the voting, Iveta Tonoyan, a member of the PAP faction, stated that they considered inappropriate the statement of Arayik Harutyunyan yesterday, which was connected with the criminal case on the rape with Gagik Tsarukyan’s participation.

“We do not see the expediency of Mr. Harutyunyan’s tenure, because a minister who stood out discussing the nuances of education, science, culture or sports, eliminating the subject “History of the Armenian Church” exclusively with different transgender people during his activity, in the case when both the population and the Armenian Apostolic Church are against it, we do not see the expediency of that minister’s being in office,” she said.

Lilit Makunts, the leader of the “My Step” faction, stated that those who have been spreading false information for months should give assessments about politeness to a “very specific deputy” of their faction.

“I can say by name, Gevorg Petrosyan, who does not recognize the norm of politeness, spreading false information,” she said.
