“Lebanon is among Armenia’s closest friends. Our two countries and peoples are connected by many historical and cultural threads. Beirut was the capital of the Armenian Diaspora of the 20th century. For decades, Beirut has been the epicenter of the Diaspora’s religious, political and cultural life.” The Prime Minister said this before the discussion of the agenda issues at the 6 August Government sitting.
On behalf of the RA Government, he expressed condolences to the families of the dead and speedy recovery to the wounded.
The Prime Minister noted that the Republic of Armenia has expressed its readiness to provide assistance.
“At this difficult time, we cannot remain indifferent to the needs of the Lebanese fraternal people, the Armenian community in Beirut. The Republic of Armenia has expressed its readiness to assist in overcoming the hardships following the tragedy that befell that city. We will do our best to support the Lebanese government and the local Armenian community.
