The leader of the “My Step” faction Lilit Makunts made a post on her Facebook page, which reads:

The 23 July plenary session of the House of Representatives passed a bipartisan amendment by Jackie Speier (accepted in a package en-bloc) stating $ 1.4 million in demining assistance to Artsakh.

Thus, the bill on the budget of the State Department for the fiscal year 2021 contained a clear wording, mentioning Nagorno Karabakh.

According to the procedure, the bill must be approved by the Senate and submitted to the President for signature in order to enter into force.

It should be noted that after the decision of the US State Department to suspend funding for demining in Artsakh, the Armenian Embassy in the US has been actively working in the Congress and administration to continue the relevant funding.
