On 13 July, 2020, at around 9:20 am, shots were fired illegally and intentionally from Azerbaijani military bases on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the direction of the guard post belonging to the MDSP of the RA Police, located near “Tavush” reservoir aimed to killing two or more people and intentionally destroying property. As a result, the mentioned guard post was damaged by the explosion of the projectile, and two policemen of the Tavush department of the RA Police, who were performing state service at the checkpoint, received were wounded.
The Investigative Committee reported:
On the same day, a criminal case was initiated in the Berd Investigation Division of the Tavush Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee under Article 34-104 (attempted murder), Part 2, Clauses 1, 13 and Article 185 of the RA Criminal Code (Article 185). Intentional destruction or damage to property) under Part 1 and 4 of Part 2.
Preliminary investigation is underway.
