NA deputy Lilit Stepanyan answers the questions that concern the teachers. One of the questions concerns certification.
“Question: The Minister of Education and Science spoke about the new attestation, as a result of which the teacher can have a 50% salary increase. What does this have to do with the previous certification process?”
Answer: The previous attestation is the MANDATORY attestation stipulated in the Law on General Education, which is carried out once every five years for each teacher. If the teacher changes his/her place of work, in this case the provisions of the law apply again. This procedure also allows the teacher to receive a classification. The attestation voiced by the Minister of Education Science, Culture and Sport is not MANDATORY, but voluntary. It will have a professional component and will be directly related to the teacher’s activities,” she said.
