After the rejection of the motion to detain Gagik Tsarukyan, in front of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, his lawyer Yerem Sargsyan told reporters that at first they were sure that there would be arrest because the proceedings were like that, but during the trial no ground was presented, and there was confidence that the court will eventually make a legal decision.

“I am glad that the court was able to find strength in itself and rise above the political process. It was clear that this last link in the political process should have been the court, which would be a disgrace to the rule of law. The facts that were presented were very obvious, so that the detention was denied,” the lawyer said.
