The government today adopted the twentieth measure to neutralize the economic consequences of the coronavirus and the procedure for providing assistance within its framework. One of the conditions is that the following information about the persons who received support within the framework of this event will be published on the official website of the Social Security Service:

• the employee’s name, surname, patronymic;
• the Taxpayers’ number and name of the employer;
• Summary information on the number of employers in the affected areas, the employees who received support, the amount paid to them;

Deputy Minister of Justice Vahe Danielyan noted that there may be a problem with the protection of personal data.

However, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan does not agree with this observation.

“Personal data is protect very sacredly, that’s why a large part of the public doesn’t believe that there are people who died of coronavirus in Armenia, they do not believe that there are people in the resuscitation department, they do not believe that there are people with coronavirus in the buildings next to them. When someone is arrested, someone goes live and shows that no one remembers that there is a problem with the confidentiality of personal data. And when you show a citizen the violation, or the violation of a person, the impudent treatment towards the police officer, they say, you have violated personal data,” Pashinyan said.

He added that whoever does not want his name to be published should not apply. The Prime Minister also urged the Minister of Health not to publish the names of the streets where there is a coronavirus outbreak, but to publish the addresses.

“Those who do not believe, let them go and see. Not to mention that when we imposed restrictions on the dissemination of information about the coronavirus, it turned out that we were violating the right to speak. Now we are not violating anyone who says anything stupid. There is no coronavirus, the relatives of those affected by the accident are given money so that they can agree that their relative has died of coronavirus. Now that a real struggle has started, they say, alas, why are you pressuring the opposition? People with 30 years corruptionist experience are now in opposition. It is very good manner to say, I’m in opposition, don’t tell me anything,” Pashinyan said.
