Media Manipulation is done by People who have a Fantastic High Level of Media Literacy: Chairman of the Commission on Television and Radio

Today, on 17 June, the annual report on the activities of the Commission on Television and Radio for 2019 continues in the National Assembly.

The NA deputies ask questions to the Chairman of the Commission on Television and Radio Tigran Hakobyan.

Tatik Hayrapetyan, a member of the “My Step” faction, asked a question, noting what obstacles there are and what solutions they see for the existing problems.

“The biggest obstacle today is imperfect legislation. But to hope that the new law will clear the air of the conventional garbage that is talked about a lot is a bit exaggerated. This explosive development of technical means has turned millions of such platforms into audiovisual platforms,” he said.

According to Tigran Hakobyan, it is difficult for a structure to study all that, to perpetuate it, and so on. He also spoke about media literacy, education and media manipulation. “Media literacy is not enough, because people who have a fantastically high level of media literacy are engaged in media manipulation.”
