Today, on 5 June, the National Assembly starts the series of preliminary discussions of the annual report “On the Execution of the RA 2019 Budget” with the NA Standing Committees.

MP Mane Tandilyan chaired the sitting.

In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a remote speech. “I want to state that 2019 was a historic year for Armenia in terms of budget, because the government managed to generate 104 billion drams more tax revenue than planned, and 62 billion drams of that amount became state budget revenues, and the amount of value added tax, the debit, which was formed before January 1, 2017, was approximately returned in the amount of 42 billion drams, and I think this was a historic event. It is already known that in 2019 an unprecedented economic growth of 7.6% was registered for the last 12 years. We had taxes at 2.35 percent of GDP, which is 1.6 percentage points higher than the projected և 1.4 percentage point, the corresponding figure for 2018,” the Prime Minister said.

He also thanked the chairman of the State Revenue Committee, David Ananyan, for his work.
