Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a live Facebook broadcast that the sitting of the commission coordinating the work on preventing the spread of coronavirus in the Republic of Armenia has just ended.

He noted that strict control will be established over the institutional enterprises, industrial enterprises, and service companies.

“We will pursue a punitive policy here, and we will try to explain to people that they will follow the safety rules. Many people take it not seriously, but this is an ideological issue for me. Working with people’s consciousness is the deepest method I know. We will prefer to explain to people every time, the tool of change of reality is the change of the individual. The tool for changing the coronavirus situation is the change of individual behavior. Our No. 1 tool remains the tool for changing individual behavior and I personally address that message to our citizens. But administrative levers will also be used,” the Prime Minister said.

According to Pashinyan, the cafes, banks, productions, hairdressing salons that do not follow the safety rules will be closed harshly. “I have instructed that those who commit double violations should not be simply closed for 24 hours, if necessary they would be closed for a month, for 15 days and so on. That is, for a long time. In addition, the names of the offenders will be published so that people know that going to that hairdressing salon, that restaurant, that cafe is not safe from an epidemiological point of view,” the Prime Minister said.
