Member of the Yerevan Council of Elders Gayane Melkom Melkomyan touched upon the issue of naming “Zvartnots” Airport after Charles Aznavour. She writes about this.

“The issue of naming “Zvartnots” Airport after Charles Aznavour has been discussed for two days. In fact, the current law allows to name the geographical object after a famous person, if at least 5 years have passed since his death. Charles Aznavour died two years ago. In other words, it is simply impossible to fulfill this proposal, regardless of the conclusion of any body and the results of the public discussion.”
