Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan posted a statement on his Facebook page, which reads:
“As the incidence of coronavirus disease increases, so does the number of people who believe in conspiracy theories do as well. This fact disturbs us from the point of view that people may lose their vigilance regarding this disease. And this means that in the near future all this can contribute to having more cases.
“We will definitely be chipped”, “There is no such disease”, “We will not be touched”, “This is a World bluff”, “Everything is a lie”, “It is to get funding from abroad” and other similar expressions can be found in the posts of individual users, who also “leave an opinion” in the comments of the materials published by the media. Such opinions are also widely covered by the media.
We do not want our population to lose vigilance, and if this trend continues, we will have to pass on the information of those who spread such false and unfounded rumors to the law enforcement agencies, first of all, to understand who is behind them and what is the motive for harming our citizens.
Taking into account the statistics of the last days, we urge our compatriots to be more careful, to follow all the instructions to stop the spread of the disease, as we call on the official news to be a reliable source of information.”
