“Dear Compatriots,
I cordially congratulate you on the victory in the Great Patriotic War and on the day of the liberation of Shushi.
Today is a special occasion for us to express our gratitude to the heroic generation that went through superhuman trials and provided prospects for peaceful work and development for our country.
World War II was a difficult test for many peoples of the world, including the Armenian people.
Both, our soldiers on the battlefield and our rear workers held that test with honor. It really became a great Patriotic War for us.
In a symbolic coincidence, on the same day in May 1992, the ancient Armenian fortress city of Shushi was liberated. The modern-day heroes brought up by the example of their fathers and grandfathers repeated the heroic deeds of their ancestors, appearing on the forefront of justice, freedom and humanity against anti-Armenianism, violence and barbarism.
The great deeds of the Armenian warriors were a turning point for the Republic of Armenia. May 9, 1992 made its historical record. We are not going to sacrifice our lives and our freedom, our rights and our dignity.
Dear compatriots,
Congratulations again on Victory and Peace Day.
This victory opened real and wide opportunities for our people, who survived the genocide, to work peacefully and for the comprehensive revival of the Armenian people. This is the holiday of the victorious heroes.
I wish you peace and creative work.”
