“In response to the information spread by some media outlets that there is a deal between the President and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia regarding the “Law on Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin”, the Public Relations Department of the Office of the President of the Republic, taking into account a number of inquiries received from media, informs:
There is no deal and there cannot be any. All this misinformation should be considered as another nonsense, which is regularly spread by some circles. People or groups of people who specialize in non-serious conspiracy theories are trying to become “big” magicians of conspiracies.
The President of the Republic of Armenia has more than once touched upon the importance of environmental issues on various, including internationally known platforms, which the above-mentioned people are unable to understand for various reasons. As a result, various nonsense is constantly being born in them.
As for the law “Law on Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin”, adopted by the National Assembly, as we have already informed, it is in the office of the President. The relevant subdivisions of the staff study the law, carry out legal and other professional expertise in order to present a conclusion to the President of the Republic. According to the Constitution, the President will express his position on them within the set timeframe,” the presidential administration informs.
