Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan informs that this year the citizens’ march to Tsitsernakaberd will be organized in a virtual space.
He writes about this. “Citizens will not physically go up to Tsitsernakaberd, but by sending their names to the short number 1915, they will take part in a virtual march at 22:00 pm, in which their names will be displayed on the pillars of the Genocide Memorial.
The virtual march, which will be broadcast live, will start on 24 April at 22:00 pm and will continue until dawn. In this way it will be possible to participate in the march from all over the world.”
The government informs.
On 23 April, at 9:00 pm, the church bells will ring for 3 minutes and the lights of the squares and streets of Yerevan and the regions will be turned off.
At the same time, we urge the citizens to turn off the lights in the apartments and turn on the cell-telephone light near the windows, thus joining the action entitled “Minute of the Bright Commemoration”. During that time, R. Patkanyan’s song “Ari im sokhak” (Come my Nightingale), and everyone’s eyes will be on Tsitsernakaberd. The event will also be broadcast live.
On 24 April, starting at 08:00, citizens can send a message to the short number 1915 from Armenia, and 0037433191500 from abroad. The names of the citizens who sent the message will be reflected in the columns of the memorial, thus announcing their symbolic participation and tribute to the memory of the Holy Martyrs.
The RA President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Catholicos of All Armenians will visit Tsitsernakaberd from 10:00. The ceremony will be accompanied by live performance of pianist, Honored Artist Hayk Melikyan.
The tribute will start on the same day at 22:00 with the participation of state collectives and individual performers. The program will include various genres: classical and folk songs, which will be broadcast live until dawn.
