On 3 April, the Government of the Republic of Armenia adopted a decision to amend the Decision on Declaring a State of Emergency, which prohibits the entry of foreigners through border crossings into Armenia, regardless of the place of arrival. The change is based on the fact that the geographical spread of coronavirus infection is no longer limited to countries with a tense epidemiological situation and includes almost all countries (territories) of the world.
According to the above-mentioned decision, any person who is not a citizen of the Republic of Armenia or a member of the family of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, as well as does not have the right to reside in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, is prohibited from entering the country through the RA border checkpoints.
Exceptions are diplomatic representatives of foreign countries, representatives of consular posts and international organizations, and members of their families, as well as persons authorized by the decisions of the Commandant or persons authorized by him in special cases.
Upon entering the territory of the Republic of Armenia at the checkpoint, persons are immediately subjected to a special inspection in order to detect the presence of infection or symptoms of infection. After undergoing the appropriate examination, all persons are subject to mandatory self-isolation, unless hospitalization and (or) other restrictive measures are applied to the latter due to the presence of symptoms. Upon entry into the territory of the Republic of Armenia after passing the checkpoint, in case of refusal of persons from medical examination, hospitalization, self-isolation and other restrictive measures, their right to free movement within a certain area (place) may be restricted to prevent the spread of infection, as well as for examination and treatment to prevent the spread of infection.
