At a special cabinet meeting today, on March 30, a decision was taken to approve the sixth measure to neutralize the economic impact of the Coronavirus.

The question was presented to the executive members by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan.

She noted that the purpose of the event is to assist RA citizens facing social problems due to labor market difficulties caused by the spread of coronavirus.

According to the decision, the beneficiaries of the measure are natural persons who are citizens of the Republic of Armenia who have been in employment with a private employer for the period of at least 1 January – 30 March, 2020 or on the basis of an employment contract or an individual legal act. The period of dismissal and re-employment did not exceed 3 business days between March 1 and March 13, but was dismissed in the period of 13 – 30 March, 2020.

The support is provided on a lump-sum minimum monthly salary.

“This assistance does not apply to the persons::

• whose average monthly salary for the two months preceding the dismissal exceeded AMD 500,000;
• who has been in employment with another employer or with the same employer as of March 30, 2020 (inclusive) under another employment contract;
• As of March 30, 2020 (inclusive) he was a sole proprietor whose business was not terminated as of the same date as provided by the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia;
• who was the beneficiary of the event defined by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia N 358-L of 26March, 2020,” Zaruhi Batoyan said.

For the purpose of the event, the date of dismissal shall be considered the date of application for dismissal submitted by the State Revenue Committee in the manner prescribed by the RA legislation.
