On March 25, the regular session of the Council of Representatives was held headed by the RA Commandant Tigran Avinyan.
Tigran Avinyan said:
You are all aware that new restrictions have been introduced on various types of economic activity throughout the Republic of Armenia, as well as on the movement of people. According to these decisions, people leaving home should fill in and carry with them a handwritten sheet with details of where the person is leaving, where they are going, and when they will return. And, of course, they have to carry a passport or identification card with them, since all people in the Republic of Armenia are considered to be self-insulated from today, except for the cases defined by the same decision.
That is, if they go to work, if their work is not banned, if they go to the store, if they go to the pharmacy, if they go to a person who needs care. It is very important that this information is filled in on the sheet and that the person has an ID card or passport, as otherwise violating the self-isolation regime is already penalized by the Administrative Code. You know that on Monday law was passed in second reading. I urge our citizens to follow these restrictions, to take this situation seriously and to give us time to be able to update our toolkit to make the fight against coronavirus more effective.
Maybe that’s what I want to say, dear colleagues. Today, some additional tightening by March 31may also be discussed. There is already a restriction that no more than two persons can be transported by cars and I have to ask the Road Police to strictly follow this decision.
By 31 March, we should try to reduce people’s mobility as much as possible and continue to effectively prevent, locate, and keep track of those viruses in our field of vision so that we can effectively combat their spread.”
The participants of the meeting touched upon the limitations control mechanisms applied, the issues of avoiding crowding in grocery stores and supermarkets.
