All educational institutions, including kindergartens, do not operate due to state of emergency. In response to Iravaban.net‘s question, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan told at a press conference on 18 March that although the regional kindergartens are under the control of the community but yet the Ministry decides how they operate, however, it is assumed that parents of children attending kindergarten should not pay for the missed time.
Arayik Harutyunyan and Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasyan also answered the question whether if in the case of distance learning the educational process is organised duly and the requirements of curricula are met, should the educational process be extended after returning to school or only those subjects which were not possible be taught online.
Will there be a general approach for such cases, or will they be partially discussed by subjects or by school?
“We will fully trust principals and teachers in the implementation of the processes and in the information they provide, because we believe that in our state of emergency, the majority of our citizens display high civic consciousness and those who have the functions, do carry out them. We are even more confident that teachers and organizers of the educational process are demonstrating such attitude and will fully implement it. Based on the information they have given us and our study we will make a decision whether they will be partial, complete, or will we see that they are fully implemented and no longer need extension,” the minister said.
