Recently, information on some antiviral drugs has been circulating on the Internet, presenting them as a coronavirus treatment. However, there is currently no specific drug or method for the treatment of new coronavirus (COVID 19). The drugs in their insert leaflet do not represent a remedy for the new coronavirus (COVID 19) with the aim of increasing immunity to viruses. The dissemination of unsubstantiated information can be misleading and may mislead the consumer.
In this context, the RA Health and Labor Inspectorate (HLI) urges Facebook users not to disseminate and send unconfirmed information about new coronavirus treatment on the Internet and not to base such information on alleged efficacy of this or that drug, as it may result in unrealized expectations and confusion.
At the same time, it should be reminded that according to Article 7, Paragraph 23 of the Declaration of State of Emergency in Armenia, examination of cases of coronavirus infection in the RA and outside the RA, health status of persons, sources of infection, scope of contact with existing or potentially infected persons, publication, transmission, distribution of information on the number of persons and persons passing through (infection testing), as well as information containing the risk of panic or panic; in the form of their publication on websites and social networks, by individuals and legal entities, including the mass media, only by reference to official information.
