State of Emergency, Day 1: Nikol Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is LIVE now. He noted that 32 out of 52 citizens infected with coronavirus are linked to the Echmiadzin case, 15 to one of the workshops in Yerevan. According to him, only 2 of these patients have pneumonia, they feel good.

The Prime Minister noted that coronavirus is not really as scary as it is common to talk about it unless it is about the people over 70 years of age or have any other chronic illness accompanying it.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to the rise in the price of alcohol, noting that it is not due to coronavirus, but to tax changes that came into force in 2020.

“There is a price change with groceries, buckwheat, lentils and so on and this is connected to the fact that people are making panic and crisis shopping,” the Prime Minister said. Nikol Pashinyan once again urged the citizens not to make such purchases, adding that the shops, their networks are not closed and they do not have lack of any goods in their warehouses.

Coronavirus is manageable. The Prime Minister concluded his speech by calling for calmness.
