Today, on 16 March, the special session of the Armenian government discusses the draft on declaring a state of emergency in the whole territory of Armenia for a month.

The draft provides for a 30-day state of emergency in Armenia. The commandant’s office will be created Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan will be appointed a Commandant.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that there was a problem in particular with the funeral ceremonies. “We have made another adjustment here, noting that the Commandant may decide that restaurants in this city are closed, not working or working. I suggest that there should also be territorial restrictions on these measures by the Commandant. The logic here is that no more than 20 people can attend the funeral after the decision is made. I understand, but if the epidemic develops, no one will be offended if the Commandant says that no more than 20 people are allowed to attend the funeral or birth ceremony,” the Prime Minister said.

It should be noted that the government session was interrupted by an hour and it will resume at 17:15.
