Echmiadzin Mayor Diana Gasparyan wrotye on her Facebook page noting that the meaning and logic of closing the entrances and exits of Echmiadzin is that leaving the city may be only in case of extreme need.

“Dear fellow citizens,

The meaning and logic of closing the exits and entrances of Echmiadzin is that only in case of urgent need will the inhabitants leave the city and be able to control those who leave.

Seeing the queues and the groups of cars, one gets the impression that the whole city is leaving to Yerevan. This situation needs to be stopped quickly.

So we urge you all to stay at home, to leave the city only in case of extreme need.”
