Nikol Pashinyan: The Issue of Introducing a State of Emergency in the Republic will be discussed Today

At 15.00 a special session of the Government will be held to discuss the issue of introducing a state of emergency in the Republic to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

He noted that the decision will most likely be made. The session will be broadcast live and everyone will be able to hear it.

“The good news is that we have diagnosed a number of people at the moment and the Minister of Health says we can hope that there is no widespread infection,” the Prime Minister said, adding that 3 of the cases registered in Yerevan were the same. They are employees of the same workshop.

Nikol Pashinyan also said that the results of thermometry in Echmiadzin revealed that 129 people have temperature, but that does not mean that they are infected with coronavirus.

“Yesterday, when we received the news that I had been in contact with a coronavirus patient in Vayk, it is interesting that I had been measuring temperature in the morning and evening and had no fever. After receiving this information, when I put the thermometer it showed 37.1, I called to the minister and asked to do a rapid test for me and other family members, and it turned out to be negative,” he said.

According to the Prime Minister, as of March 16, more than 300 citizens have been isolated and 300 more are being prepared.

As for food supplies: He noted that there is no problem, the cargo transportation continues and there is no need to panic.
