Citizens who are 27 Years Old and have not completed Compulsory Military Service will not be granted Amnesty

MP Edmon Marukyan has proposed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to apply amnesty for citizens who have turned 27 and who have not completed compulsory military service. The government rejected the offer.

Marukyan notes that the number of such citizens is approximately 3647.

As many of you are aware, a month ago I wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan proposing to initiate a law on amnesty, extending the amnesty to those 27 years of age who are subject to punishment under Article 327 of the RA Criminal Code (Evasion from regular military service or training exercises or alternative term, service, training, or mobilization) the offense provided for in parts 1 and 2.

A short while ago, I received a response from the Government of the Republic of Armenia from Defense Minister David Tonoyan, which rejected the proposal. You can read the response below.
