I recently visited a child who was transferred from Gyumri to the “Sourb Astvatsatsin” Medical Center, who was subjected to domestic violence, lost her mother and is struggling for life. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan reports.

“According to the doctor, the condition of the child is grave but stable. Breathing apparatus is connected, but she breathes on her own. The doctress assured that there was no need for any additional remedies at this time. When asked if they had a psychologist, they assured that they had, and as soon as the child got out of shock, she would also receive psychological support.

I would like to remind you that the child had not previously been in a difficult life situation or boarding school, but the medical staff confirmed that she had no visitors so far.

The Ministry, as in case of all other children in difficult situations, will ensure the care of the girl, in cooperation with all relevant agencies,” the Minister said.

Notably, on 5 March, the police issued a statement that the officers from the operative group who arrived at the scene discovered the corpse of the girl’s mother, Marine K., 43, in the apartment with traces of violence.

Gyumri police officers found out some facts of the incident through the urgent investigative measures taken. A 28-year-old man was found and arrested on suspicion of committing a crime.

He was presented to the body conducting the preliminary investigation.
