The Number of Employees at the Meghri Checkpoint has been increased due to the Threat of Coronavirus

The number of staff members carrying out supervisory activities at the Meghri Border Medical Checkpoint of the Health and Labor Inspectorate has been increased. Two more workers have been sent in recent days to conduct surveys and inquiries of those entering the country.

The inspection body at the state border (air, road, rail) at all border medical checkpoints, including at the Meghri checkpoint, has since 24 January undergone an enhanced surveillance regime to prevent possible penetration of coronavirus.

At the same time, Meghri checkpoint is currently undergoing technical upgrades and at the same time work on the establishment of the checkpoint in a new, more convenient location is carried out.

To prevent the penetration of the coronavirus into the Republic of Armenia, continued surveillance by the HLI against both persons arriving from China and those who were in the Republic of China during the last 14 days before crossing the state border of Armenia. Automatic thermometry, epidemiological examination, address cards of the place of residence are completed and information is provided to the relevant polyclinics to determine further control (maximum 14 days) of the disease.

If the passenger has symptoms that are characteristic of the illness, the passenger is isolated and transported to an infectious hospital by ambulance.

Coronavirus penetration prevention works are a series of complex actions coordinated by the interdepartmental commission chaired by RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan. At the core of all events is the joint work of the state agencies.
